Hey Guys and Gals,
Last month we had a great turn out for the lunch buffet at Apo View. Had a new visitor, Scott from Oregon. Everyone had a good time and the food was wonderful. We all left will full stomaches and big smiles on our faces.
Since most people seem to have more money at the beginning of the month, we decided to change the lunch buffet at Apo View to the first Sunday of every month. Cost is 820P per head.
Hope to see you there. The buffet is great, you will love it.

All it takes is for one upset marriage partner,business partner or as you will hear,a jealous neighbor to file a case with the BI for your life to be turned upside down.
That is what happened to one Jonathan Bentley Stevens, an Australian, who had a furniture plant in Davao City and another man in Subic Bay.

I wanted to invite all to come watch and hear me play guitar and sing a few songs Friday and/or Saturday at the Damosa Gateway Center at 8 PM Aug,6,7th. Maybe even meet for dinner first at Hola Espanol, or Pino!. They let me play before the main act and during the band’s breaks. It would be nice to have some familiar faces in the audience!

A few of the members went to the Apo View Lunch buffet a couple weeks ago and we really enjoyed ourselves. So, I have decided to make it a monthly event.
The last Sunday of every month, 12:30pm Apo View Buffet. Cost 820P per head. I know thats kind of expensive, so you probably wont want to bring kids, unless they are big eating teenage boys that are built like linebackers.
The buffet is great, you will love it.
So, Sunday July 25th at 12:30pm, Apo View Hotel, Davao City.

Filipino-American Friendship Day, July 4, is a day in the Philippines designated by President Diosdado Macapagal to commemorate the liberation of the country by joint Filipino and American forces from the Japanese occupation at the end of World War II.
The Philippines was a U.S. territory from 1898 to 1941, when it was occupied by Japanese forces, and again by Americans for a brief period after the war. The country gained complete independence on July 4, 1946.
Initially, the nation’s Independence Day holiday (Araw ng Kalayaan) was held on July 4. Former President Diosdado Macapagal moved it to June 12, the date on which the Philippines had declared independence from Spain in 1898. Filipino-American Friendship Day was created in its place, and it coincides with the United States’s Independence Day on July 4th.

I am wondering what direction the group would like to go at this time. Attendance at the monthly meetings has been very low. Usually only 10-12 members. I guess we have a few options.
Maybe we need new officers, i’m not sure, but I know Stacey Baird and myself will not continue running the group in the current “Monthly Meeting” format. Any fresh meat that would like to volunteer? Stacey and myself are very busy and simply don’t have time to run the group.

Not sure if anyone has tried the food at Gusteau’s Food Haus, but the food really good. My wife and I have eaten at there main branch in General Santos City several times and we always love the food. We were pleasantly surprised when we noticed that they had opened a branch here in Davao City at Damosa Gateway, Market Basket area.
There specialty is Ocean King Crab or “Grancho Reale”, is what they call it.
The menu is very basic but everything i have tried is delicious.
Open Monday – Saturday 11am – 2pm & 6pm – 10pm
Closed Sundays.
The Grand Opening was on May 15th, 2010 Mayor Elect Sara Duterte graced the opening of the Davao branch.
The original Gusteau’s was opened in General Santos City, two years ago by the founder Alan Lopez.
Give it a try. The prices are affordable and the food is great!

Hello,
Just wanted to inform all the members that we will be having a “pot luck” dinner this Saturday Night, May 29th at my house. Starts around 6pm. Will probably eat around 7pm. Bring some food and drinks, we will all share.
I guess some of the activities will include. Ladies will probably be playing cards and enjoying “lady talk” with some music. Guys will probably be playing cards and enjoying some “mens talk” with plenty of drinks and Air-con card room. We also have tons of movies if anyone wants to relax on the couch and watch a movie.
Besides all the great food and drinks, there will surly be lots of laughing, fun and a very memorable occasion.
Now, what everyone wants to know is, where do I live. Hopefully you are familiar with the Lanang area. Our house is on 8th Street, Guadalupe Village, Lanang.
Here are the directions from Sasa Area: At the first street light, there is a Y where you have to go right or left. You should take the Y to the right. This is JP Laurel Ave. Take the first right hand turn, past the Grand Regal Hotel and Casino. Look for a Phoenix Gas station at this corner, on your left. Continue up the hill to the guard gate. Turn left on 1st Street, go 2 blocks, turn left on 8th Street. Go 1 block, our house is the corner lot, left side, maroon color gate and wall.
Here are the directions from Matina side of town: (Depending on your area, it maybe faster for you to take diversion road, then cut over to Damosa gateway area)
Take JP Laurel Ave. past Victoria Plaza, continue on past Damosa Gateway, about 1KM past Damosa Gateway, look for the Phoenix Gas Station on your right, Turn Left at the Phoenix Gas Station. Continue up the hill to the guard gate. Turn left on 1st Street, go 2 blocks, turn left on 8th Street. Go 1 block, our house is the corner lot, left side, maroon color gate and wall.
I hope this will be good enough direction, that you all will be able to make it.

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to inform everyone that we will not be having a meeting this month (May 2010) due to elections and lack of participation.
We are however planning to have a potluck dinner night for all DAEA members and wives. Tentative schedule is Saturday May 29th 6pm till ? At my house. Located on 8th St. Guadalupe Village, Lanang, Davao City.
Everyone should bring a dish and some drinks.
More details and a location map will be posted later.
